Dolphins plan to make a big splash as NFL comes to London

LONDON (AFP) — America's sports stars are always larger than life figures so it is no surprise that the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants have been helping the NFL make a big splash in London.

The English capital will host the first NFL regular-season match to be played outside North America as the Dolphins and Giants clash at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

It is an historic fixture and heralds the start of the NFL's attempt to establish the sport as a global game.

The league's arrival in England has certainly left its mark.

A 26ft tall statue of Miami Dolphins star Jason Taylor has been causing a stir since it was unveiled in Trafalgar Square on Monday.

The 'Big JT' is almost the height of two double decker buses stacked on top of each other...
