Duisburg coach gives Brazilian striker Ailton an ultimatum

DUISBURG, Germany (AFP) — Duisburg coach Rudi Bommer issued an ultimatum Wednesday to his Brazilian striker Ailton that his attitude over the following weeks would decide his future at the struggling Bundesliga club.

"I gave him his chance in the championship, I was patient, but now that's finished: he must do more at training and on the pitch," Bommer said.

Ailton, 34, hasn't scored a goal in four Bundesliga matches since his surprise arrival at Duisburg in August.

He is also at loggerheads with his club over his wish to head to Mexico to be with his wife, who recently gave birth to twins, and Ailton even missed training this week due to his wishes to be granted leave.
