Beltre joined other first-time winners first baseman Kevin Youkilis of the Boston Red Sox, second baseman Placido Polanco of the Detroit Tigers, outfielder Grady Sizemore of the Cleveland Indians and pitcher Johan Santana of the Minnesota Twins.
