McLeish says Italy will fear Hampden test

GLASGOW (AFP) — Scotland coach Alex McLeish believes his side can take advantage of Italy's fear factor in their crucial Euro 2008 showdown.

Scotland can clinch qualification for Euro 2008 with a win over the world champions at Hampden Park next weekend, while Italy must avoid defeat to keep their own hopes alive.

McLeish is convinced the high-stakes nature of the game puts more pressure on Italy because of their illustrious reputation and position as one of the pre-tournament favourites..

"At the end of the day, the Italian guys are humans - and it does not matter the experience they have had; they will be apprehensive coming to Glasgow," McLeish said.
