British star Winehouse cancels remainder of tour

LONDON (AFP) — Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse confirmed Tuesday she was cancelling the rest of her British and Irish tour on doctor's orders, and added that she could not perform without her imprisoned husband.
The 24-year-old, whose husband Blake Fielder-Civil has been charged with attempting to pervert justice and is in custody, has had a series of erratic performances in recent months, with observers questioning her health.
"Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor," a statement released by her record company Island Records said.
