Negro blasts Lotito for destroying Lazio

ROME (AFP) — Former Lazio stallwart Paolo Negro has launched a stinging attack on club president Claudio Lotito, accusing him of tearing out the club's heart.
Negro spent 10 years at Lazio and was even club captain before being pushed out by Lotito.
Financial mismanagement by former president Sergio Cragnotti left Lazio bankrupt and forced to sell off all their best players despite winning the Serie A title in 2000 and reaching the Champions League quarter-finals that same year.
Lazio have been in decline ever since and although they finished third last season, this season they languish in 14th place, just three points above the relegation zone, and look certain to bow out of Europe's premier competition in the group stages following their midweek 2-1 defeat at home to Greeks Olympiakos.
