New York Knicks coach Thomas settles harassment suit

NEW YORK (AFP) — New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden reached a settlement on Monday in the sexual harassment case filed by former employee Anuche Browne Sanders.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but a jury had previously ruled that Browne Sanders should receive 11.6 million dollars in punitive damages.

Thomas, who has continued to deny the charge, said the settlement should not be interpreted as an admission of guilt.

"As I have said before, I am completely innocent," Thomas said. "This decision doesn't change that. However, this is the best course for Madison Square Garden, and I fully support it."
