ROME (AFP) — Italy midfielder Mauro Camoranesi will be out of action until the end of January, his club Juventus said on Wednesday.
The Argentine-born player has had an injury-plagued season so far, missing six weeks at the beginning of the campaign before also missing the last two matches against Atalanta and AC Milan.
And in training on Tuesday he injured a thigh muscle and another lengthy spell on the sidelines beckons.
Camoranesi underwent tests on Wednesday morning, after which Juve posted a statement on their official website.
"The player has suffered a muscle pull in his right thigh and should now observe a period of rest," said the statement.
The news will be a further blow to Juventus's fading title hopes. Already they trail...
