Tigers reach terms with lefthanded hurler Willis

DETROIT, Michigan (AFP) — The Detroit Tigers agreed to terms with Dontrelle Willis on Thursday, 15 days after they acquired the lefthanded hurler in a blockbuster deal with the Florida Marlins.
The three-year contract extension is worth a reported 29 million dollars.
Willis was acquired from Florida on November 5 along with All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera as part of an eight-player swap.
Willis, 25, went 10-15 with a 5.17 ERA last season. Since he made his Major League debut with the Marlins in 2003, Willis is 68-54 with an a 3.78 ERA.
