TOKYO (AFP) — Japan's core consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in November from a year earlier as Asia's largest economy showed fresh progress in its long struggle against deflation, official figures showed Friday.
It was the second consecutive monthly rise in the core consumer price index, which had rebounded 0.1 percent in October after eight straight months of year-on-year declines.
Core inflation in November was slightly faster than market forecasts for a figure of 0.3 percent.
