Tennis player Santoro rolls back the years against Blake in Sydney

SYDNEY (AFP) — Veteran Frenchman Fabrice Santoro revelled in the centre court atmosphere to dump out two-time champion James Blake in the opening round of the Sydney International here Monday.
Santoro, who turned 35 last month and is entering his 20th year on the ATP Tour, upset the rhythm of the third-seeded American, winning 7-6 (7/4), 6-2 in 80 minutes.
The 37th-ranked Santoro will face either Australian Joseph Sirianni or Belgian qualifier Steve Darcis in the second round as his reward for his first win in four meetings against Blake.
"It's a great win for me because it's the beginning of the year and you don't exactly know where you are at the start of the year," Santoro said.
