China produces record 402 feature films in 2007: report

BEIJING (AFP) — China produced a record 402 feature films in 2007, state media reported Friday.
The country's total box office earnings reached 3.3 billion yuan (449 million dollars), Tong Gang, film bureau director of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, told Xinhua.
In 2007, China exported 78 feature films, earning a total of 2.02 billion yuan (273 million dollars). In addition, more than 200 Chinese films participated in 97 international film festivals, Gang said.
