Keegan mulls Newcastle return

LONDON (AFP) — Former Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has indicated he could be interested in a new spell in charge at St James Park.

Speculation has been rife over who the new coach of Newcastle would be since last week's sacking of Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp's decision to remain at Portsmouth.

Keegan, who also coached the England national side, remains a popular figure on Tyneside having taken under-achieving United closer that anyone to Premier League glory in his last stint in teh northeast.

The former Liverpool star is behind Blackburn chief Mark Hughes in the betting but would be a serious contender if he intimated that he would make a return to top-flight football.
