Nicholson, Freeman kick 'Bucket List' to top of box office

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman powered the do-it-all-before-you-die comedy "The Bucket List" to the top of the North American box-office over the weekend, final figures showed Monday.

"The Bucket List" pulled in 19.4 million dollars, according to box office tracker Exhibitor Relations, edging out second-placed "First Sunday" about two men who try to rob a church to pay off a debt, which took 17.7 million.

In their first-ever film pairing, Nicholson plays an aging billionaire with terminal cancer who gets stuck in a hospital room with elderly auto mechanic Freeman, diagnosed with the same prospects.
