Slovakia nominates squad for Fed Cup tie

BRATISLAVA (AFP) — Slovakia named its top woman player, Daniela Hantuchova, in its squad for the Fed Cup tie against the Czech Republic on Tuesday although her participation is still uncertain.

"Daniela promised us last year to represent at least at one match at Fed Cup. We hope it will be this attractive game with the Czechs," non-playing captain Mojmir Mihal said in a news conference in Bratislava.

Hantuchova will decide on her participation after she finishes playing in the ongoing Australian Open, he added.

As well as the current world ranked number nine, the squad for the World Group 11, first round tie is made up of Dominika Cibulkova, Magdalena Rybarikova and Janette Husarova.
