Belbin, Agosto hold onto ice dance lead in US skating championships

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (AFP) — Four time champions Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto maintained their ice dance lead with a score of 64.29 points in the original dance at the US Figure Skating Championships on Thursday.

Belbin and Agosto moved to 106.15 points after two events and have a slim lead on Meryl Davis and Charlie White (103.28) at the Excel Energy Center arena.

Kimberly Navarro and Brent Bommentre are in third with 94.09 points.

"It's the strongest we've done all season," said Belbin. "We controlled our elements, but skated with a lot of energy.

"We've made some obvious improvements since the Grand Prix Final. Our elements were good, aside from our trip."
