Four-time all-star Knoblauch agrees to meet with US Congress

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Former American baseball star Chuck Knoblauch has agreed to testify before US Congress to discuss the use of performance enhancing drugs in Major League Baseball.
The 39-year-old Knoblauch decided to be interviewed after being issued a subpoena by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The Committee, which is investigating drug use in baseball, issued the subpoena last week after the four-time all-star Knoblauch did not respond to an invitation to appear at a deposition.
The invitation to Knoblauch followed the publication of former Senator George Mitchell's report into performance-enhancing substances in baseball.
