Tom Brady allays ankle anxiety ahead of Super Bowl 42

PHOENIX, Arizona (AFP) — New England quarterback Tom Brady on Tuesday doused concerns over his ailing ankle, which has been a hot topic in the run-up to Super Bowl 42.

"My ankle feels great," said Brady, the National Football League Most Valuable Player who has guided the Patriots to an unprecedented 18-0 record and a chance for a historic victory against the New York Giants in the championship game.

"I practised a full day yesterday. I think we had one incompletion in practice. It feels great."

Brady's right ankle has been the subject of excited speculation ever since he was spotted last week visiting his supermodel girlfriend Giselle Bundchen wearing a protective boot.

Although he soon dispensed with the boot, Brady skipped several team work-outs...
