WASHINGTON (AFP) — Embattled Major League Baseball star pitcher Roger Clemens made the rounds for a second day of face-to-face visits Friday with the US lawmakers who will question him next week about doping accusations.
The seven-time Cy Young Award winner as a top league pitcher provided five hours of testimony under oath Tuesday to US House of Representatives Oversight Committee attorneys but has followed up with extraordinary personal visits.
Brian McNamee, Clemens' former trainer, has accused the 45-year-old pitcher of being a dope cheat, saying he injected steroids into Clemens several times during the years they worked together.
Clemens has denied the accusations and the matter will come to a dramatic showdown next Wednesday at a committee hearing...
