Panama 'shaken, not stirred' by shooting of latest James Bond flick

PANAMA CITY (AFP) — Filming of the latest James Bond saga began Friday in the Panamanian capital where the suave British spymaster tries to thwart an attack by a group of narcotraffickers.

Historic buildings and other locales in the city's Casco Viejo district, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997, are to serve as shooting locations for "Quantum of Solace" and the series' perennial Agent 007.

British actor Daniel Craig is reprising his role as 007, following his 2006 debut in "Casino Royale".

Producers are expecting Craig, Ukrainian model-actress and new Bond girl Olga Kurlylenko, and some 400 Panamanian extras to descend on the city.
