Rookie Peterson powers NFC over AFC in American football Pro Bowl

HONOLULU (AFP) — Minnesota Vikings rookie back Adrian Peterson rushed for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the NFC to a 42-30 victory over the AFC in the National Football League's Pro Bowl game.
The Offensive Rookie of the Year, Peterson scored in the third quarter to give the NFC its first lead 28-27. He capped the scoring with a six-yard score in the fourth quarter of Sunday's American gridiron all-star game.
Peterson's performance earned him the MVP award. The last time a rookie won the MVP was in 1995 when Marshall Faulk earned the honours.
Faulk is also the only player in Pro Bowl history to rack up more rushing yards (180) than Peterson did on Sunday.
