FA sets up "whistle-blower" line for dodgy football transfers

LONDON (AFP) — England's Football Association on Thursday moved to tighten its supervision of transfer dealings, notably setting up a "whistle blower" telephone line designed to help uncover suspect financial transactions.
The governing body also announced that it had appointed Quest, a forensic intelligence company chaired by former London police supremo Lord Stevens, to start randomly auditing transfers, beginning with some completed in last month's transfer window.
Quest last year completed a long-running investigation into 'bungs' -- kickbacks or bribes linked to transfers -- on behalf of the English Premier League.
