Court documents outline charges against Bonds

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) — US propsecutors released court documents on Friday outlining their charges against former San Francisco slugger Barry Bonds, who is accused of perjury in denying he took steroids.

The charges, which include four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice, allege that Bonds, who last season became baseball's all-time home run king, received steroids from his trainer Greg Anderson.

Bonds' legal team had demanded last month that the five-count indictment against Bonds, which charged him with lying to a federal grand jury in the 2003 BALCO steroid distribution investigation, be thrown out.
