No repeat spending spree for Bayern says Rummenigge

BERLIN (AFP) — Bayern Munich's bosses have ruled out any repeat of last summer's massive spending spree, despite the high-profile arrival of coach Jurgen Klinsmann this July.

Bayern splashed out 69 million euros (100 Million US dollars) to bring the likes of Franck Ribery, Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose to the Allianz Arena.

But with coach Ottmar Hitzfeld set to quit in June to coach the Swiss national team and be replaced by Klinsmann, chairman of the board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says there is little chance of any big name stars arriving.

"Whether it is in defence, midfield or attack, I don't see any areas of the squad where we need to strengthen our manpower, our squad is complete," Rummenigge told German magazine Sport Bild.
