Receiver Fitzgerald re-signs with Cards

TEMPE, Arizona (AFP) — The Arizona Cardinals will keep their top wide receiver after two-time Pro Bowler Larry Fitzgerald reached an agreement to remain with the National Football League club on Tuesday.
Fitzgerald signed a four-year, 40 million dollar contract that will keep him in Arizona through the 2011 season.
Fitzgerald, 24, has emerged as one of the NFL's top receiving threats over the last three seasons, reaching the 100-catch mark twice while hauling in 26 touchdowns over that stretch.
But Fitzgerald reached several performance-based incentives in his contract, forcing the Cardinals to restructure his deal.
Unable to agree to a new contract last month, Fitzgerald recently became the subject of numerous trade rumours.
