NBA Warriors bring back Nelson for next season

OAKLAND, California (AFP) — Don Nelson will guide the Golden State Warriors in the 2008-2009 National Basketball Association season after the club picked up a contract option Tuesday for the 67-year-old coach.
Nelson has revived the once-woeful Warriors, guiding them to the playoffs last season for the first time since 1994 and then masterminding an upset of top seed Dallas in the first round of the playoffs.
Nelson's 1,271 career victories make him second on the all-time NBA win list, trailing only the 1,332 of Lenny Wilkens. This is his second stint as the Warriors' coach and he has an 81-63 record in this term with the team.
