BUCHAREST (AFP) — NATO leaders resumed Thursday summit talks in Bucharest, marked by divisions over Georgia and Ukraine's bid to join the transatlantic alliance and a Greek veto hanging over Macedonia's entry.
"We are gathered around this table to take decisions that will certainly shape the future of this alliance," NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer told the heads of state and government.
The session, which followed a working dinner Wednesday, was opened with a minute's silence in respect for those who have died among the estimated 60,000 personnel on NATO missions around the world.
