LA PAZ (AFP) — Bolivia is in a huff after learning the plot of the new James Bond picture filming next door in Chile includes a gang of drug traffickers described as Bolivian, local media reported Friday.
Deputy Culture Minister Pablo Groux sent a letter complaining to Michael Winson, the producer of "Quantum of Solace," which stars Daniel Craig, the daily La Razon de La Paz reported.
"Such a stigma should not be used to represent Bolivians, even in the fictional context of the Bond production," Groux was quoted as grumbling.
The film is in production in parched nothern Chile, which is being used as a stand-in for Bolivia in the film.
"Quantum of Solace" is set to be released later this year.
