Britain's Prince Philip leaves hospital: Palace

LONDON (AFP) — Queen Elizabeth II's elderly husband Prince Philip left hospital on Sunday after spending three nights in care to treat a chest infection, Buckingham Palace said.

Television pictures showed the 86-year-old Duke of Edinburgh being driven away from the private King Edward VII Hospital at about 1:30 pm (1230 GMT).

He was to return to Windsor Castle to continue his recuperation, the Palace said in a statement. The Duke's engagements for Monday, including a dinner marking the State of Israel's 60th anniversary, have been cancelled.

Prince Philip, like Queen Elizabeth, has enjoyed generally robust health in his old age.
