Cech undergoes surgery for face lacerations

LONDON (AFP) — Chelsea's Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech has undergone surgery on cuts to his lip and chin sustained during a training ground accident, the English club said Monday.

"Petr will begin his rehabilitation immediately and we hope to have him back playing as soon as possible," Chelsea said in a statement.
