Puerto Rico's Cotto set to battle Gomez in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY (AFP) — Unbeaten world champ Miguel Cotto will square off against Alfonso Gomez in a title fight which could solidify the Puerto Rican's reputation as a dominant force in the welterweight division.

This is the fourth defence of Cotto's World Boxing Association title after convincing wins over Shane Mosley, Zab Judah and Oktay Urkal.

Cotto (31-0, 25 knockouts) captured the WBA crown by knocking out Carlos Quintana 17 months ago in Atlantic City

There are reports of a falling out between Cotto and his uncle and long-time trainer Evangelista but the boxer isn't saying whether his uncle will be in his corner for Saturday's 12-round contest against Gomez.
