Bonds' home run ball sold at auction

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AFP) — An anonymous buyer paid just over 375,000 dollars for the final home run ball hit by embattled American baseball home run king Barry Bonds.

Bonds, who was not re-signed by the San Francisco Giants, broke Hank Aaron's all-time home run mark by smashing his 756th home run against the Washington Nationals on August 8 of last season.

Bonds blasted his final home run off Colorado Rockies pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on September 5, 2007. The ball was caught by 24-year-old Jameson Sutton of Colorado.

Sutton placed the ball in a deposit box before coming forward on March 13.
