GLASGOW (AFP) — Rangers booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 victory away to Partick Thistle in a quarter-final replay on Sunday.
Goals from Nacho Novo and Chris Burke ensured the Jags were unable to repeat their success in the first tie when they held Rangers to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox.
And Rangers will now be massive favourites to win the competition with two First Division sides standing in their way.
St Johnstone will be their opponents in next Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final and the winner of that match will face Queen of the South in the final on May 24.
After booking a place in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup, with a 2-0 win away to Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, Rangers manager Walter Smith had made seven changes.
