BAQUBA, Iraq (AFP) — At least 11 people were killed and 40 wounded when a car bomb ripped through a crowd outside a courthouse in the Iraqi city of Baquba on Tuesday, Iraqi officials said.
"At least 11 people were killed and 40 wounded, among them women and children, when a car bomb exploded outside the main courthouse in Baquba at around 11:30 am (0830 GMT)," said a police official who would not be named.
Dr Ahmed Fuad at the local hospital in Baquba, 60 kilometres (35 miles) north of Baghdad, said 11 bodies had already been brought to the hospital.
"We have at least 40 wounded people, among them women and children," he told AFP.
