As the Democrats fight, McCain quietly advances

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Weeks after wrapping up his party's presidential nomination, Republican John McCain is struggling to make himself heard over the din of the Democratic race, but seems no worse off for it.
A compilation of recent polls by independent website RealClearPolitics shows the Arizona senator is roughly level with the two contenders for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, in national support.
McCain secured enough delegates to represent his party in November's election after the Texas and Ohio primaries on March 4, and has been quietly getting on with campaigning while Clinton and Obama still battle it out.
