Strong blast near Italian embassy in Sanaa

SANAA (AFP) — A strong blast on Wednesday rocked the administrative and residential district of Sanaa where the Italian embassy is located, witnesses said.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the sector round the site of the blast in Al-Safia district, where the finance ministry and customs also have buildings.
A witness said a bomb had been placed in the wall surrounding the customs headquarters, which is adjacent to the Italian embassy.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, nor indication who was responsible for incident.
The blast happened shortly before offices were due to open in a city that has been plagued by such attacks in recent weeks.
