Tornado nearly upset Bush wedding plans: First Lady

WASHINGTON (AFP) — First Lady Laura Bush said Monday that a sudden tornado nearly swept away preparations for her daughter's wedding this weekend, but despite that one "setback," the event went off without a hitch.

"It was just perfect. It was exactly the way Jenna wanted it. She was absolutely beautiful," said Bush of her 26-year-old daughter's marriage Saturday to Henry Hager, 30.

Around 200 family members and friends gathered for the outdoor ceremony was held at Bush's 1,600-acre (650-hectare) Prairie Chapel Ranch, far from the pomp and publicity of the White House.

"We did have a little -- one setback on Friday night," she told a gathering of Senate spouses in Washington, describing a tornado on the property while the guests were at a pre-wedding party...
