ZURICH (AFP) — Some 47,000 tickets were snapped up within three hours for US pop diva Madonna's first-ever concert in Switzerland, to be held on August 30 at a military base near Zurich, its promoters said Friday.
No more tickets were currently available, but another 23,000 would be going on sale later, of which 10,000 will be reserved to people living near the venue at Duebendorf, Good News Productions said.
The tickets costs from 150 to 300 Swiss francs (90 to 185 euros, 140 to 285 dollars) -- domestic rail travel included.
Madonna will turn 50 on August 16, a week before she kicks off her Sticky and Sweet tour in the Welsh city of Cardiff in support of her just-released 11th album "Hard Candy".
The singer will perform in 10 cities in Europe --...
