Flores to manage Benfica

LISBON (AFP) — Sacked Valencia coach Enrique Sanchez Flores has signed a two year contract to manage Benfica, the Portuguese side announced on Saturday.

The 43-year-old was officially unveiled as the successor to Jose Antonio Camacho, who resigned in March complaining of his players' lack of motivation, at a press conference in Lisbon.

"We've got a lot of ambition, but we must be cautious,' stressed club president Luis Filipe Vieira who was flanked by former player-turned sporting director, Rui Costa.

In his playing days Flores had spells with Valencia, Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza and returned to Valencia as coach after one season in the dug out with Getafe.
