Switzerland beat Slovakia 2-0 in Euro 2008 warm-up

LUGANO, Switzerland (AFP) — Switzerland enjoyed a 2-0 friendly win over Slovakia on Saturday, just two weeks before the Euro 2008 championships, which they are co-hosting, get underway.
Midfielder Valon Behrami opened the scoring in the 56th minute before he then turned provider seven minutes later setting up the second goal for veteran striker Alex Frei.
Captain Frei is now just one international goal away from the record of 34 set by Kubilay Turkyilmaz.
He could equalise the record, or even beat it next Friday in St Gallen during the last warm-up match for the Swiss, this time against Liechtenstein.
