Deans names seven rookies in Aussie rugby squad

SYDNEY (AFP) — New coach Robbie Deans Monday named seven rookies in his first Wallabies squad for Australia's opening three rugby internationals this year.
ACT Brumbies prop Ben Alexander, NSW Waratahs trio Luke Burgess (scrumhalf), Dean Mumm (lock) and Lachie Turner (winger), Western Force duo Ryan Cross (centre) and Richard Brown (Number 8), and Queensland Reds winger Peter Hynes all get their chance in the 30-man squad.
Deans, who is the first foreign coach of the Wallabies, flew into Australia Monday after steering New Zealand's Canterbury Crusaders to their seventh Super rugby crown against the NSW Waratahs last weekend.
