Kane, Bastel share lead at LPGA Championship

HAVRE DE GRACE, Maryland (AFP) — Canada's Lorie Kane fired a flawless six-under-par 66 Thursday to seize a share of the first-round lead alongside Emily Bastel in The LPGA Championship.
The leading pair were a shot in front of Australian Lindsey Wright with a group of five sharing fourth place two shots off the pace in the second women's major of the season.
World No.1 Lorena Ochoa, who is seeking her third straight major title after winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship earlier this year and last year's women's British Open, posted a 69, while Annika Sorenstam began her bid for a fourth LPGA Championship with a 70.
Kane, 43, nabbed six birdies in her round, displaying the form she enjoyed some seven or eight years ago when she was a regular on LPGA...
