Villa reject Liverpool's latest Barry bid

BIRMINGHAM, England (AFP) — Aston Villa have rejected Liverpool's latest bid for England midfielder Gareth Barry.
Villa captain Barry has told the Premier League club that he wants to move to Anfield to realise his dream of playing in the Champions League.
But Villa manager Martin O'Neill is refusing to let Barry leave unless Liverpool match his valuation of the player.
The Reds have already had two offers turned down since the end of the season and now O'Neill has snubbed a third bid, believed to be around 15 million pounds (18.9 million euros).
A Villa spokesman confirmed: "The offer was a slight improvement on a previous bid but our position on the issue remains unchanged and Liverpool have been informed."
