I would pay 100m euros for Ronaldo, says Schuster

BERLIN (AFP) — Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster on Sunday said he would pay 100 million euros (157 million dollars) for the services of Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
"For such a player we will pay what is necessary because what counts for us is to win the Champions League," he told German TV station DSF.
Ronaldo has consistently been linked with the nine-times European champions but Manchester United have repeatedly said the player - whose contract runs until 2012 - is definitely not for sale.
United earlier this month reported Real to UEFA for trying to unsettle their prize asset, currently on a 120,000 pounds-a-week contract but who could see that sum double if he switched to the Bernabeu.
