Court delays hearing on Saddam super-yacht

NICE, France (AFP) — A French court on Monday postponed until November a hearing to decide who now owns a super-yacht built for the executed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

The 82-metre (270-feet) Ocean Breeze, equipped with several swimming pools, a mosque, a missile-launcher and mini-submarine, has been impounded among millionaires' yachts in a harbour near the Riviera city of Nice since November.

The ship, built in Denmark in 1981, started life as the Qadissiyat Saddam but was never actually delivered to Iraq.

The Cayman island-based firm Sudeley Limited, part-owned by King Abdullah of Jordan, says it is now the legal owner of the floating palace.
