Nuggets suspend US basketball Olympian Anthony

DENVER, Colorado (AFP) — Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony got an Olympic thumbs-up on Monday, but a thumbs-down from his National Basketball Association team over a recent brush with the law.
On the same day he was named to the 12-man US Olympic basketball team for the Beijing Games, Anthony was suspended for two games by the Nuggets for his April 14 arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Anthony is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. He will sit out the first two games of the 2008-09 NBA season.
