US Treasury secretary to visit Europe

WASHINGTON (AFP) — US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson will visit Europe in the coming week where he will meet government officials and participate in talks on a range of economic and financial issues, his office said Tuesday.

The Treasury said Paulson's June 29-July 3 tour will include visits to Moscow, Berlin, Frankfurt and London.

Paulson is due to meet government officials and business executives to discuss the "global economy, the launch of a Clean Technology Fund, the need to keep economies around the world open to investment and efforts to protect the global financial system from abuse by Iran."

The Treasury has imposed financial sanctions on Iranian banks and companies in relation to Tehran's nuclear power drive and over alleged terrorist financing....
