Serena relieved to avoid curse of Court Two

LONDON (AFP) — Two-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams admitted she was relieved to have avoided the curse of Court Two after beating Polish teenager Urszula Radwanska 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Williams, who won Wimbledon in 2002 and 2003, was in cruise control against the 17-year-old wildcard and never looked like becoming another victim of the infamous graveyard of former champions.
The American sixth seed has been unable to get past the quarter-final stage of Grand Slams since winning the Australian Open in 2007 but she remains a potent force on grass.
