Premier League glory would be career highlight - Benitez

LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) — Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez believes that ending the Merseyside club's 18-year wait for Premier League title glory would be the greatest accomplishment of his career.

The Reds last tasted success in England's top flight in season 1989-90 when manager Kenny Dalglish steered them to their 18th title.

"Winning the title would be the biggest achievement of my career," Benitez told the club's website on Saturday.

"It's more difficult than in Spain because teams here spend big money."

Liverpool have maintained an excellent showing in Europe, winning the Champions League in 2005, but it is the top domestic prize that still eludes them, with third spots in 2005 and 2006, and a fourth-place finish last season.
