Croatia's Klasnic agrees Nantes deal

NANTES (AFP) — Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic has agreed a four-year contract with promoted French side Nantes, club officials said on Tuesday, after his contract with German club Werder Bremen expired.
Klasnic, 28, scored twice at Euro 2008 for his country before they were knocked out on penalties by Turkey in the second round.
He had played for Werder since 2001 but played only 16 matches last season, scoring seven times, having last year undergone a kidney transplant operation after his father acted as donor.
A kidney donated earlier from his mother failed.
At Euro 2008, Klasnic became the first kidney transplant patient to play in a major finals but has sought damages from Werder club doctors for not diagnosing his condition over a period of five years.
